Installments 1-49 Summary
 




			Thomas/Jonathan/Elizabeth/Stephen/Alicia:





   Thomas Norris moves to Hope Falls to take a new job at Falmont Enterprises.  His unwillingness to 
open up is noted by his new boss George Falmont.  In order to make him feel more at ease, George 
invites him to his house for dinner.  After an awkward start, Thomas manages to hit it off with 
George's son Jonathan.  At the same time, Jonathan's sister Elizabeth had made known her interest 
in him. 
    
   To the disappointment of both Jonathan and Elizabeth, Thomas is unable to be more then friends
with either of them.  He finally confides to Jonathan and Melinda Mitchell that he's still trying to
get over the suicide of his late boyfriend Luis.  As it turns out, Luis witnessed him and his sister
Alicia kissing and ended up killing himself.  According to Alicia, Luis' suicide note names Thomas 
as the reason he killed himself. 
   
   At the same time, Luis's sister Alicia has made her way to Hope Falls to become a tutor and professor
at Hope Falls University.  She quickly starts to date Stephen Richardson while sending notes and e-mails
to Thomas in a twisted sort of revenge for causing her brother Luis to kill himself.  Once she reveals to
Thomas that she's in town, she tells him that she'll leave him alone as long as he doesn't cause anymore
trouble with his indecisiveness.  
   
   Thomas decides that he's more interested in Jonathan then Elizabeth.  However, with Alicia's presence
in town and memories of Luis' suicide on his mind, he's unable to proceed beyond friendship with Jonathan. A
tired Jonathan then decides to cool things down while trying to focus on other aspects of his own life.  As
he does this, he helps bail his brother Henry out of a jam and becomes attracted to Officer Evans, a campus
cop.  At the same time, he decides to close his art gallery and move back home to figure out his next course
of action.  




			Lillian/Lenore/George/Chase/Stephen


      

   Once upon a time, Lillian and Lenore were the best of friends.  As with anything, the only thing to
come between best friends is a man.  This particular man's name was George Falmont.  Lillian and George
were a college item, ready to take on the world but Lillian realized that she didn't feel the same way
about him that he did for her so she broke up with him.  George turns his attentions toward Lenore while
the two end up marrying after college and settling down in Hope Falls.
   
   After awhile, Lillian comes to regret her decision and they fall into an affair.  A guilty Lillian 
ends the affair but turns up pregnant with George's baby.  She goes to Lenore and confesses the affair
and the resulting pregnancy.  Lenore agrees to help her with the condition that George will never know 
she's pregnant with his child.  The two come to an agreement to cease contact.
  
   Lillian ends up meeting Chase Richardson and falls in love with him.  A short time later, she confesses
to him that she's pregnant and doesn't correct him when he assumes she's pregnant with their child.  
They end up marrying and he's none the wise that stephen Richardson isn't his son.
   
   Lillian and Lenore live seperate lives for over twenty six years until a charity function is held at
the country club.  Lenore is co-chair and Lillian is assigned to write the features piece on it.  After 
skimishes the two agree that they must co-exist together but that no one should ever know about Stephen. 
The two are unaware that Stephen's girlfriend Alicia overheard this.
    
   Alicia decides to blow the secret wide-open by confiding in her best friend Gillian Richardson (Lillian
and Chase's eldest daughter) about what she heard.  Gillian and her sister Nina disagree over Alicia but 
decide to prove the claim by doing a DNA test.  Nina obtains Stephen's DNA while Gillian finds herself 
making out with her boss George Falmont for his.  After having dinner with George, Gillian concludes 
George has no knowledge about Stephen possibly being his son.




			Melinda/Alicia/Stephen/Wally/Katie/Nico/Nina/Henry/Gerald/Elizabeth




   Melinda and Stephen were best friends on the verge of becoming a couple as they finished high school.  
However, her parents decided to move to Florida and left the care of her twin brother and sister to her.  
As it turned out, their mother was dying of cancer.  After their mother's death, their father took off 
and left the care of the twin's full-time to Melinda.  In doing so, Melinda changes her focus from love 
and college toward raising her twin siblings.  As a result, she puts her life on hold.
   
   Stephen finally admits to Melinda that he's never gotten over her but she firmly rebuffs him due to not
wanting to compromise their friendship.  A heartbroken Stephen then begins to date Alicia, while Melinda 
realizes that she does have feelings for Stephen and is too late.
   
   After a short time, Alicia learns from Gillian about Melinda and Stephen.  Even though Stephen reassures
her that he only wants her, she refuses to truly believe it.  This is confirmed when she catches Stephen and
Melinda kissing in the parking lot outside O'leary's.  An enraged Alicia then learns one of the students
she used to tutor is Melinda's younger brother Wally and starts sleeping with him.
   
   As this is all going on, Katie Mitchell begins to date Henry Falmont and doesn't understand why her best
friend Nina Richardson has issues with Henry.  What she doesn't know is that Henry and Nina are attracted to
one another but Nina refuses to go there based on her friendship to Katie.  Even after Henry kisses her and
makes his feelings known by breaking up with Katie, Nina refuses to budge.
   
   Just before Henry breaks up with her, Katie is anxious about her scholarship to school being revoked due
to falling grades.  After arguing with Melinda and getting a part-time job at O'leary's, she still finds
herself short on money.  As luck would have it, new arrival Nico Rawlins is sitting in her section and he 
suggests she think about modeling.
  
   Katie considers it and decides to go to Nico's apartment to have some test shots taken.  After consuming
some alcohol, Katie passes out and he takes some suggestive photos of her.  Once she wakes up in her own bed,
she instantly ceases any further contact with Nico.
 
   What Katie doesn't know is that Nico's former profession was as a photographer for an adult website.  Not
only did Nico take Katie's images but also Elizabeth Falmont's images.  In Elizabeth's case, he had taken the
images during and after sex.  She had hired him as a photographer at Falmont Enterprises due to his talent but
later realizes her mistake when he runs up excessive expenses for the company.

   Nico ends up sending Katie's images to his former employer and they are posted within 24 hours for everyone
to see.  However, Nico's former boss is angered when he discovers that the images posted are of his daughter
Katie!  He threatens Nico, who decides to hightail it out of town after Elizabeth finally fires him.  Before he
goes, he sends Elizabeth's images to her mother Lenore.
   
   Lenore confronts Elizabeth about the images and then forces her daughter to confess to George before someone
else does.  As this is going on, she meets Gerald Mitchell and ends up reuniting him with Katie.  Katie happily
brings her father back home and finds out Melinda knew he was back in town and forbid him from making contact
with Katie and Wally.
